How to Make a Fake Google PageRank

May 31, 2008

Picture of fake Google PagerankMany webmasters still focus on websites with a high PageRank when it comes to link building and website promotion. They buy PageRank for their site in many ways, such buy links, exchange links, or just by a domain with good Pagerank.
Recently, a new technique of the fake PageRank number of a web site has become popular. Fake Google Pagerank is done by redirecting traffic from googlebot to another site, preferably one with a high PR. So the green bar that shows the PageRank goes up but your pages don’t get indexed or get a single visitor from the engine. This technique called cloaking.
Actually, this fake PageRank technique prevents your web site from showing up in Google because Google thinks that the content of the redirected web site is the content of your site, and doesn’t help your web site rankings or SEO purpose at all. The only effect on your web site is that the green PageRank bar will be longer.

The fake Google Pagerank technique is 301 Redirect the domain you have with .htaccess, PHP header (anything server side) to a page with the desired page rank. It’s better to redirect to something relevant. For example, if you are doing a proxy site, redirect to another proxy site that have good valid PageRank.
Here is the php the code to use: [Read more]

How To Get Free Traffic For Your Website

May 16, 2008

Picture of free website trafficGetting traffic to your web site is the most important task for a web master. Though paying for traffic is one option, it might not be a profitable source, especially if the web site does not have a direct source of revenue via sale of products. In such cases getting free traffic to the web plays an important role. There are many different ways in which you can generate free traffic. Some of the methods that you can use, are listed below:

1. Writing articles and submitting them to article directories. Almost all article directories provide a form field to include you copyright notice and the resource box. You should use the resource box not just to talk about your self but also to entice readers looking for more information. The resource box for your articles should be used to offer a freebie e-book or a report or even an attention grabbing head line to attract the readers to click the link and visit your web site.
You can also end the article with a question and link to your web site to find the answer. Since the articles you publish in article directories are also used by webmasters looking for free content on their sites, it creates a viral affect with your site getting traffic from varied sources. You also gain credibility as an expert with articles. Your article displays your knowledge and shows readers how much you know, about a specific topic.

2. Creating and distributing a free report on a specific subject also helps to get free traffic without putting in much effort. You should include a link to your site or link to a squeeze page to capture readers name and email. Having a link to a squeeze page automatically builds your own list of readers who can be contacted later with affiliate programs in the related subject. You should send your paid traffic to download this free report and allow them to redistribute the report. Giving the report for free attracts readers, and by allowing them to distribute freely ensures that your web site gets free traffic, long after the report was distributed.

3. You should regularly post on forums related to your site. This is perhaps the easiest and quickest way to get free traffic traffic. You should use these forums to make useful and interesting posts, and include a signature file that allows readers to click through to your site. If you are not an expert in any niche and are unable to have a discussion around a topic, you can always post questions. Asking for help will also get your site noticed and get you some good incoming links.

4. Another option to explore for free traffic is to find link partners and exchanging links. This will not only get you direct click through traffic from other sites, but it will also get you search engine traffic once those sites are indexed and your site is given credit for the inbound links.

5. If you maintain a blog on your site, submitting your blog feed URL to various RSS sites and ping them also helps getting exposure to your site very soon. You should consider to promote your blog by submitting feeds or sites to Blog directories with a high PR to make sure you are getting quality incoming links. You should also not ignore submitting to sites with low PR in the later stages. If these web sites make it big you do not want to be left out.
You should not submit to millions of web sites or directories using some software. Trying to submit your site to millions other web sites may just work against your site.

6. You should look at submitting your web site to the social bookmarking sites like Squidoo, del.icio.us etc. This helps in getting good exposure to your web site.

Whatever the way you choose to get the visitors to your site, you need to be careful to do it naturally and never stop your hard work on your web site. After all Patience really pays!!!

Giving Your Online Business Powerful Domain Presence

May 14, 2008

Picture of business domainWhat’s the one make-it-or-break-it item that your online business needs to stand out from the crowd and become a huge success?

The right domain name!

The domain name is what people type in when they want to get to your site; the part that comes after the http:// or the www. It’s your virtual real estate address. Having something they can remember without looking it up each time or keeping it in their bookmarks to be lost among the others is the best thing you can do to get repeat visitors and word-of-mouth free traffic.

People say that all the good names are gone, but that’s about as far from the truth as you can get. Here are some simple guidelines that will make your domain name — and your business — popular and memorable web destinations.

1. Choose a Dot-Com

The number one rule is, go for the dot-com ending, which is typed as .com. This is the Main St. of the virtual real estate world, and the one that most people will type in regardless of what your domain extension actually is. While .net and .org were popular for awhile, and then .us, .biz and .name took the stage, people always revert back to .com — no matter how many fancy country code top level domains are launched into the mainstream, like .cc, .ws, .to, .cn and others.

2. Choose something memorable

You want your business name to be your domain name too, if possible. So if your flower shop is called Suzette’s Flowers, you want to get suzettesflowers.com, assuming it’s available. If not, try adding a dash, like suzettes-flowers.com or a secondary descriptive word like suzettesflowersonline.com or prettysuzettesflowers.com. If you’re creative, you’ll definitely be able to come up with something that works with your business name and is memorable for your customer.

Keep in mind that if you use a dash in your domain name, which some Search Engine Optimization experts say attracts more free traffic to your site, you have to say the dashes if you use your domain name in an audio product or commercial; so it would be “suzettes dash flowers dot com”.
Most people typing in your domain name later will not type the dashes.

3. Get another variation

If you’re lucky enough to grab a great domain name without the dashes, then you might want to get the same name with dashes between the words as well. You can put both of them up on your server as mirror sites to get the benefits of SEO as well as the ease of typing without the dashes.

You may also want to consider getting the .net or .org or even another extension to use as a sister site for your main dot com site… perhaps you put your forum on the .net, or use your .com for your main product and .net for your business background information site.

Even if you’re looking for a domain name that you don’t really think will be available, using your creativity and trying a variety of combinations should allow you to lock down a memorable domain name that will attract people to your website.

Getting One Way Inbound Links

May 14, 2008

Picture of inbound linksI found many articles on internet talking about reciprocal links or building link popularity campaign, and it gives me a thought of making a small research on one way inbound links, for your SEO campaign.

The main question is how to get a good one way inbound links, as you know that it is not the number but the quality of the links that is important. Not all links are equal, some are carry more weight than others.

First is by submitting website to directories, especially niche or specialized directories, Dmoz or Yahoo has more weight for this, or you can submit to free or paid listings in important directories. Or use my website related directories.

Other way is to submit your website articles to article sites, article syndicate sites and ezine announcement sites. You will get a link pointing to your site as your article published on their sites. And make sure that your website keywords is on the text link and not your domain name.

If you have several websites, link them together in such a way that the links are one way inbound links, not as reciprocal links. Don’t share the same IP address for the sites (all the sites should have a unique IP address), this you can ensure by using a different host for each web site.

Have a link to your website from your signature in newsgroups and discussion forums ( if signature files are allowed)

For additional resources for one way inbound links to your site, you can provide some free or useful resource at your site, it could be website tools, software download, free content, etc.
For free and paid scripts you can find at Hotscript.com or Searchscripts.com and find all kinds of scripts that perform specific functions.

Make Directory on Wordpress

May 8, 2008

Picture of Directory of WordpressDone! Now my web tech directory is up. I will put some website link there that related to website development and technology sources. Off course you also can add your own website there, don’t forget the reciprocal link :)

This directory was build with the help of WP Link Directory plugin, that only works for Wordpress 2.05 or above. Also you need GD enabled in order to get the Captcha working for the verification.
Some features that listed for this plugin are:
1. Creation of link categories, sub-categories with descriptions
You can create any number of categories with description in the directory, including sub-categories.
2. Quick add of link from admin backend and visitor front-end
Your visitor will be able to click on this link “Insert your link here”, it will pop out a form below for submission. Clean and simple.
3. Search engine for admin to find link
You can search for a particular link based on its title, domain name, email address, etc, thus never have to worry about can’t find a link that you want to delete or edit.
4. Easy integration to your Wordpress theme
Now, this is one of the highlights of the plugin. You don’t have to worry about the template because this directory will use your Wordpress theme. You can easily modify styling using the external style sheet provided in the directory folder.
5. Backlink cleansing for checking reciprocal links
What it is, is enabling you to run a link cleansing process that checks each reciprocal links and see if the site is linking back to you as it promised. A list of broken links will be listed and you can either remove them or do something else.
6. Non-reciprocal link allowance
Another great great great thing of the script. There’s many time when we want to allow a link to have non-reciprocal link, eg. you might just start setting up the directory and you’d need to stuff some default links in it. Thus, you can simply check the tickbox of “Allow non reciprocal”, and then the link will not be checked when performing link cleansing check.
7. Email notification templates
Sure you want to be able to have a good email template system that manage communication for submitters and webmaster. Thus, this script allows you to set a custom email template system for link notification and approval.
8. SEO friendly url rewrite
Wow! What more do you want? SEO friendly URL rewrite feature, that re-writes all url to search engine friendly format. Note that this requires you to be running on an apache though.

Cool enough?? Go download the WP Link Directory plugin here

After the installation, you will need to modify some layout code to fit your Wordpress theme layout. Good luck!

Traffic by Ping

April 27, 2008

Website ping imagePinging lets dozens of services know you’ve updated your site and increases traffic to your blog. Most of the sites have a ping page or an automated XML-RPC script that you can use (not with blogger).
So why would you want to be on these sites? One word: traffic. Blogrolling scripts like blogrolling.com and WordPress check update services to see if you’ve updated and then they reflect that on everyone’s site, usually by moving you to the top of people’s blogrolling list or putting a recently updated indicator by your link. Services like Technorati spider your links to tell who’s linking to you and who you’re linking to, almost in real time. If you show up on someone’s Technorati link list for their site (often called an “egorati search”) they’re likely to visit your site to see what you said, increasing your exposure. Other sites like weblogs.com and blo.gs list the most recently updated blogs and many people browse these to find something new when they’re bored. Many of the different services offer their own forms for pinging just that service, but keeping track of all those and hitting each one whenever you update would be a hassle.
Ping-o-Matic! is a very useful tool that automatically pings many services.
